Contemporary Trip. 18. New Job. Etc.

Whoa, it's time for an update!
~~~
Our l-a-s-t (for a little while) Disney trip was a few weekends ago... we splurged and stayed at the Contemporary. (Concierge Level too!) We had so much fun! Most of our time spent was at the hotel and the Magic Kingdom - Even though it was Superbowl weekend and it was PACKED every where!
Saturday, Camille, Ernie & I woke up early to get to Hollywood Studio's to ride Toy Story Mania one last time. We woke up at 6 to get ready and be at the park around 7 for extra magic morning hours. Only to find out it didn't start until 8. My fault :(
Not to mention, we went to bed around 1AM the night before.
Lesson learned: Extra morning hours = not worth it.
That night, we hopped on the monorail for a few rounds. While the guys got off, me & mom explored the Grand Floridian and the Polynesian. They were cool, I was excited to see the Poly because I've heard it's a great Honeymoon resort (which I'm researching for our Disney honeymoon) but it didn't make that big of an impression on me. Lots of research later - we've decided on the Boardwalk Inn together...
On our last day we visited Fort Wilderness Campground and visited some old memories we've had as a family. Then we took a bus over to Animal Kingdom - to ride Everest one last time.
Here's a few pictures from the trip:
I turned 18 on February 13. Yay! Along with that came my new job, which I love. I'm really fortunate to get my dream job as my first one. I'm loving the discount ;)
My boss is pretty nice, the first day of training included working the Cash Wrap (registers, I used to say... I have to say cash wrap now) and folding panties until my hands felt like they were going to fall off. I'll be working in the PINK section and Cash Wrap. Fun fun :D
Notice how I mentioned our Honeymoon planning in the Disney post?
Well, don't get too excited. We aren't quite engaged yet. But oddly enough, we have the date set. Shh, I'm not telling. (Sometime 2011, not giving you the exact date because I don't want gossip)
So mom & I have been doing research at some venues and such. We've already checked some venues off the list... (Disney's Vero Beach Resort = big fat no)
We have some appointments set up to meet with some coordinators on Thursday and Friday this week.
Thursday at Costa d' Este - AMAZING plance. I'd LOVE to have it here
And Friday at Mckee - I originally was set on this place, but I've found out a few things about it that really turned me away.
We'll see...
I'll try and update every so often and keep you posted how the planning is coming along :)
tata for now ♥
Holding hands in IKEA & freezing with The Mouse
Friday we went to IKEA… we had to get a few things for the house and such. Me and Ernie went off by ourselves and had some fun picking out stuff we’ll have in our future home. We’ve decided our kitchen will be black, white and red with a few Mickey accessories. We also picked out our duvet and pillows (haha)! It will be tons of fun when we have a home to shop for together :)
That night we checked into the Wilderness Lodge. (Freezing in Florida that weekend, PERFECT weather for this resort!)
The only room available for us was on the 7th floor, which happens to be concierge level. It was amazing. The “Old Faithful” club was a place that every hour or so would be a new selection of foods. So we barely paid for any food when we were at the hotel! I think the best part were the espresso machines that will make anything you want and the flavor syrups you can add to them. I had about 5-6 cups of coffee per day.
We didn’t go out much; we went to Hollywood studios for a few hours on Saturday afternoon.
Ernie's best score yet
Saturday night Ernie and I went to Downtown Disney to check out the Lego store.
And on Sunday, our last day, we went to Magic Kingdom to do a few of our favorites before leaving. We took the boat from our hotel… we were cold.
This whole trip was freezing! We were always wearing at least two layers. It was an “adventure” every time we stepped out of the lobby.
I’m now looking forward to our stay at the Contemporary in February!
Once upon a time...
Well today was Ernie and I’s first anniversary. It was magical.
On the 25th, we counted down the hours and minutes until it was midnight; when we would finally exchange gifts. December 26, 12:00am finally came, and it was time!
I gave him a Silpada bracelet, another mix CD and a book I made (365 reasons why I love you). Plus I baked a cake, I cut it into a heart and it was four layers with coconut and chocolate shavings on top.
He gave me a promise ring which is absolutely beautiful! Seriously, he did really good, I’m quite surprised. I can’t wait for my engagement ring now ;)
He also go me a digital camera, which I'm VERY excited about. I've been using my phone (LG Dare) and it's not that great. The camera is a Samsung SL202. It's great! It even has a feature for fireworks, so now I'm even more excited for Disney!!
This past year has been amazing. I wake up every morning happy, knowing he’s mine. And I’m SO excited that our lives together haven’t even started yet. Something to look forward to when that day finally gets here...
And we'll live happily ever after :)
m-i-c...k-e-y...
One thing you should really know about me: I am completely obsessed with Disney World.
When I was little I'd learn a bunch of Disney facts everyday so I could prove to everybody how big of a fan I was. I also wanted to be a Cast Member for a while. I don't think I'll be able to experience that with the way me & Ernie's relationship is going; but I think it's worth it. :)
We took Ernie for his first time on Feb 23 (2009). Before we even started dating, he told me he'd never been. I knew that I had to take him one day. He loved it, and I'm happy that he now loves it almost as much as I do.
I have so many childhood memories there, I'm glad I can share them with Ernie and see him discovering everything for the first time.
We also watch classic Disney movies together. It's fun, we feel like little kids laughing at Dopey & Grumpy washing up in Snow White or the puppy who is always hungry in 101 Dalmatians.
We've had seasonal passes for the past few years but we're not going to renew this coming year :( It's good in a way, we'll really miss it so when we finally do go back it will be a lot more special.
We have two trips planned for January 8-10 (staying at the Wilderness Lodge, my favorite) and February 5-7 (staying at the Contemporary, our first time!). Ernie's never been to the WL, so it will be nice in the cold weather for him to experience that.
That's all for now, toodleloo!
